Unlike most soccer games, which default to showing theĪction from a television-style, zoomed out overhead perspective, PES 2011 3D Of polish holds back what could have been a truly great game. Offers a lot of depth in its Master League mode. As for me, I am looking beyond the horizon with fervent expectation of the arrival of FIFA 12 for the 3DS scheduled to come out some time this fall.Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D features solid gameplay and Nonetheless, you can still enjoy this game immensly even without the 3D effects.Īll in all, if you just want a cool little soccer game for your 3DS, Konami's PES 2011 is certainly a fun game to play with. In my excited state and relentless effort to beat the AI opponent, this can become quite a feat. To ejoy the 3D effects, you have to hold the device in just the right spot in front of you and at just the right angle.

Don't get me wrong, the effects are awesome, but I just can't seem to hold the gaming device in place consistently to get the full effect. I have to say, I haven't been able to enjoy the 3D aspect quite as much as I'd like to. It's a cool feature, expecially the Champions League mode, but I'd still prefer to have the ability to take Arsenal (which is not available on this PES game) to the Barclays Premiership Championship. You're only able to play in exhibit mode, Champions League, and Master League, which for the last two options, the team you eventually select is thrown into a league made up of the few authentic clubs available in the game. In addition, I don't like the fact that you can't play for the purpose of winning a league like the Premiership, etc. After that, there are three higher modes, which frankly, I'm too frightened to even attempt at this point! Remember, I'm talking about amateur mode, which is only one notch above beginner. Also, defending against attackers has proven such a challenge even when pressing the "dash" + "ball preassure" buttons. Whatever the reason, I'm having difficulty in this area. Perhaps, it's due to my clumsy fingers pressing dainty buttons.

I don't recall experiencing this much difficulty making simple passes with the FIFA handhelds, even when I'm in the early stages of learning how to play a new game. I've attempted to make simple passes to open players and my passes will go to players that I wasn't even remotely trying to pass to. I don't like the AI, especially when it comes to your own team. Many of the international squads are generic as well so don't go looking for Landon Donovan on the US squad or "Chicharito" on the national Mexican team.Īnother blemish, the game play, even in amateur mode, is pretty difficult. So far it looks like you get all of the Italian and French leagues and a few real teams here and there no MLS, Mexican, or even the German league. The rest of the PES teams are genericly made up teams. If I recall, I recently read that PES games usually have about 150 licensed teams compared to FIFA's 500. You get most of the main clubs like Manchester United and Milan. I wasn't too thrilled about the fact that there were few licensed clubs. In fact, many of the players' faces are quite recognizable.Īnd now for the negatives. Many of the teams, especially the licensed ones have players with their sponsors blazed accross their jerseys.

The detail is right on for the most part. I'd compare the graphics to what you'd see on the Wii. Nintendo has just taken hand held game play to another level. It blows the regular DS games out of this universe. I've always enjoyed the FIFA games for the game play and for their authenticity as they relate to team licenses.įirst and formost, the graphics are awesome. I finally succumbed to buying the3DS mainly because of this soccer game.
